The Young Professionals Committee (“YPC”) of Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC is a diverse group of dedicated individuals who volunteer their time, talents, and energy to generate awareness of and to support BBBS of NYC’s many mentoring and educational programs. Throughout the year, the YPC has a powerful financial impact raising over $150,000 each year through the numerous fundraising events the YPC plans, organizes, and executes in a fun and collaborative environment. The YPC also gets involved in various volunteering, recruitment, and advocacy efforts on behalf of BBBS of NYC.
What we do
We help recruit new Bigs, Littles, and YPC members through community canvassing events, phone-a-thons, volunteer information sessions, and other outreach efforts. We also participate in advocacy activities to raise awareness about the positive impact of mentoring
Each year we raise about $150,000 for BBBS of NYC through our events like Big Apple Gala, Summer/Winter happy hours, and fitness fundraisers
We meet in person as a group on the first Tuesday of each month. We also have regular social events, including book club, trivia nights, and co-ed sports leagues
