These Terms of Use describe the app-specific rules for Basic and Advanced Grammar (the App). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
The App is also governed by the Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/) (Apple Standard EULA). These Terms supplement the Apple Standard EULA and do not replace it. If these Terms conflict with the Apple Standard EULA, the Apple Standard EULA controls to the extent applicable.
1. THE SERVICE
The App provides English-learning content, including grammar explanations, vocabulary, pronunciation practice, text-to-speech audio, reading activities, adaptive quizzes, progress-based review, and original mock-exam practice.
No account is required. Progress, review history, and learning preferences are stored locally on the device. The App does not provide cloud synchronization or a developer-operated account backup. Deleting the App, clearing its data, erasing the device, or moving to another device may result in the loss of local learning progress.
2. LICENSE AND PERMITTED USE
The App is licensed, not sold. Your license and use of the App are subject to the Apple Standard EULA and Apple’s applicable Usage Rules.
You may use the App and its content for personal, non-commercial learning. You may not reproduce, redistribute, sell, sublicense, publish, scrape in bulk, or commercially exploit the App or its content, except where applicable law or the Apple Standard EULA expressly permits it. You may not interfere with the App’s operation, bypass access controls, or attempt to obtain Premium content without a valid entitlement.
3. FREE CONTENT
The App makes the following content available without a Premium subscription:
• all 172 legacy grammar learning lessons;
• the first mock test for each supported exam; and
• selected learning and review activities identified as free in the App.
The first free mock for each exam is part of the App’s free content. It is not a subscription trial and does not automatically begin a paid subscription.
4. PREMIUM SUBSCRIPTIONS
The App offers monthly and yearly auto-renewable Premium subscriptions. Both plans provide the same Premium entitlement, including access to the full Premium content library and an ad-free experience while the entitlement remains active. The only difference is the billing period and the price shown in the App before purchase.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account when the purchase is confirmed. A subscription renews automatically for the same billing period unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple may charge your account for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends at the renewal price displayed for your account and region.
You can manage or cancel a subscription through your Apple Account subscription settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription. If a subscription expires or is cancelled, Premium access ends at the end of the paid period, the App returns to its free access model, and ads may be shown again. Local learning progress remains on the device unless the App or its local data is removed.
Use Restore Purchases in the App to restore an eligible subscription associated with the Apple Account currently signed in on the device. Apple processes purchases, renewals, cancellations, billing records, and refund requests under its policies and applicable law. The developer does not receive your full payment-card details.
5. ADVERTISING AND CONSENT
Free users may see banner or interstitial advertising supplied through Google Mobile Ads. Advertising requests are handled through a consent-aware configuration. Where required, Google may present a consent or privacy-choice screen based on region, device settings, and applicable requirements.
The App does not intentionally request new ads while a valid Premium entitlement is active. Advertising and consent services are subject to the relevant third-party terms and privacy practices.
6. SPEECH AND AUDIO FEATURES
The App can use Apple text-to-speech voices to play words and examples. Pronunciation practice can use the microphone and Apple Speech Recognition to compare spoken input with the learning prompt. These permissions are optional, but the related pronunciation features cannot function if access is denied.
The App does not save voice recordings to a developer-controlled server. Speech recognition may occur on the device or through Apple-operated systems depending on the device, selected language, network availability, and Apple’s platform behavior. Apple’s services are governed by Apple’s terms, privacy practices, and device settings.
7. PRIVACY
Use of the App is also subject to the Privacy Policy (https://sites.google.com/view/basicandadvancedgrammar/privacy), which explains local progress storage, speech features, advertising, purchases, and third-party services.
8. EDUCATIONAL AND EXAM-PRACTICE NOTICE
The App is an independent educational product. Its mock questions, passages, explanations, and practice activities are original content. Exam names and related descriptive terms are used only to identify the format, level, or skill area being practised.
The App is not affiliated with, sponsored by, approved by, or endorsed by any examination board, test provider, university, government body, or trademark owner mentioned in the App. Practice scores, level estimates, weakness analysis, and study recommendations are learning aids only. They are not official scores, certificates, admissions decisions, or predictions of performance in an official examination. No particular score, language level, admission result, or learning outcome is promised.
9. CONTENT AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The App, its original lessons, questions, passages, software, visual design, and other original materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Third-party names, trademarks, and service marks remain the property of their respective owners. Their appearance for descriptive or identification purposes does not imply affiliation or endorsement.
If you believe content is inaccurate or infringes a right, contact thebasicandadvanced@gmail.com with enough information to identify the material and explain the concern.
10. AVAILABILITY AND CHANGES
Learning content, exam-format references, features, and Premium offerings may be corrected, expanded, reorganized, or discontinued as the App develops. Some functions depend on the device, iOS, downloaded Apple voices, Apple Speech Recognition, an internet connection, App Store services, or advertising services and may not be available at all times or in every region.
Current subscription changes do not shorten a Premium period that has already been paid for. Any updated price or renewal information is presented through Apple under its purchase and subscription rules.
11. SUSPENSION OR TERMINATION
Your right to use the App may end if you materially violate these Terms or the Apple Standard EULA. Sections that by their nature should continue after termination, including intellectual-property protections and the educational and exam-practice notice, remain applicable.
Warranty, liability, governing-law, and dispute provisions are governed by the Apple Standard EULA and any mandatory rights under applicable law.
