1. Support a strong local economy by continuing business-friendly initiatives such as the Childcare Space Incentive and reviewing bylaws that limit business growth.
2. Manage inflation and procurement pressures through strong financial oversight and multi-year capital planning.
3. Deliver critical infrastructure projects (Lakeshore Drive, Operations Centre, CL Medical Clinic, Wastewater Treatment Plant) that support commerce and attract investors.
4. Ensure land-use policies remain flexible, such as our recent decision to allow 24-hour childcare, so businesses can meet workforce needs.
5. Balance affordability with the reality of Cold Lake’s growth, particularly as crossing the 15,000 population threshold brought new service demands and cost burdens.
6. I would like to continue to seek ways to encourage other industries and businesses to come to town if they are interested.
7. I would like to continue to promote our city as a premiere tourist destination. Lakeshore drive, marina and Kinosoo beach improvements have made Cold Lake enviable not only in Alberta but across Canada and with visitors from other countries. I would love to see a cultural arts center built in Cold Lake at some point. Of course, economic feasibility is vital.
8. Continue to provide the services Cold Lake citizens have come to expect from their municipality.
9. Remain focused on the things municipalities are supposed to provide, while holding other levels of government accountable for the services they should provide. Thus easing the taxation burden on Cold Lake taxpayers.
10. Continue to work with Council towards lowering crime and homelessness issues.
