Translate a short story from its SL into TL. Follow these steps:

Select a Short Story: Choose a short story in a language you're comfortable with. It could be a folk tale, a modern piece, or a classic story.

Identify Key Elements: Before starting the translation, identify the essential elements of the story, such as themes, cultural references, wordplay, idiomatic expressions, and any nuances that might pose challenges in translation.

Choose Techniques: Select at least five different prose translation techniques to employ throughout the translation. These could include:

• Transposition: Changing the grammatical structure or form without altering the meaning.

• Cultural Equivalents: Finding English expressions or idioms that convey the same cultural context as the original.

• Paraphrasing: Rephrasing sentences or paragraphs while preserving the original meaning.

• Compensation: Using extra words or phrases to convey the same meaning in the target language.

• Modulation: Changing the perspective or voice of the text to convey the same message.

• Literal vs. Free Translation: Balancing between a word-for-word translation and a more interpretative, free-flowing translation.

• Omission and Expansion: Omitting non-essential information or expanding upon certain elements for better understanding in the target language.
