Aylsham Community Gym offers a friendly, relaxed environment for you to work out. Set your own goals or work from a structured program, tailor made for you by a qualified Gym Instructor.
As well as keeping us fit and motivated, gym work aims to help us all reduce the likelihood of diabetes, heart disease, weight problems, high blood pressure and many other health risks we have to deal with in the modern world.
If your aim is to build muscle, our large range of free weight equipment will help you increase muscle mass in a safe and efficient way. From dumbbells, weights benches and squat racks, to plate-loaded equipment your fitness can go from strength to strength!
If your goal is to improve your general fitness, which will make everyday activities easier and improve your overall health, you're spoilt for choice at our Gym.
Our range of cardio equipment, including treadmills, cross trainers, exercise bikes and rowing machines, can improve your endurance and stamina. Group classes are also available and included in your membership fee.
For members later in life, aware of the dangers and fears of falls workouts concentrating on flexibility, balance, coordination and strength can really make a difference. This will help to keep us active and supple by paying attention to the muscle groups we may neglect!
The Gym also takes referrals from GPs in the Broadland area via 'Broadly Active' the Broadland District Council physical activity referral scheme. Please click here for more information.
"…I needed some specialist help to sort my knee out as I have osteoarthritis. I found the instructor worked wonders giving me a great strengthening programme and I now have no more swelling or pain. Give it a go you won’t regret it…"
Aylsham Community Gym is a non-profit making organisation supported by a voluntary committee. There are many tasks to be completed to ensure the smooth running of the gym. Working in unison with the fitness team the committee ensure that the show goes on at ACG. The Committee Chaired by Annette along with Sally, Janet, and Fran are all active gym members. Please look at our recent photo board and let us know what we do well. But equally tell us if there is something we are not doing so well. Our Fitness Professionals and The Committee are here to enhance your gym experience.
