This project is all about finding, exploring, creating, and sharing digital media in a responsible way. Learning how to recognize quality content, create my own work, and use digital tools to credit and share things ethically online.
This is a photo I took of the Trevi Fountain during a work trip to Rome, Italy in 2024. The fountain is located in the Historic Centre of Rome, which is a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Site. I sent the photo to my Outlook email from my phone and am sharing it here under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license.
I attempted to add a sample audio file from Glass Bass (wow.mp3 to match travel theme samples - wow sound at seeing sites while traveling) by uploading it from my Google Drive, but Google Sites would not allow the file to be embedded. I also tried several other MP3 files, but ran into the same issue so I used the sample provided by Professor Noone for this assignment.

This is an example of an animated gif that I found on Pixabay, which is an online community that provides stock photos, illustrations, vector graphics, videos, music, and sound effects. Pixabay allows users to download and use content for commercial and non-commercial purposes without needing to provide attribution.
I love to travel, so I downloaded this animated GIF from Pixabay and then uploaded it to my e-portfolio.

Keeping with the travel theme, I embedded this video TedTalk video by from Kristin Weis from YouTube, which provided an embed code.
According to the about page for TedTalks, TED's videos may be used for non-commercial purposes under CC BY – NC – ND 4.0 International and in accordance with TED Talks Usage Policy.
A key takeaway from this project is that not all files are easy to embed, and it’s important to check both compatibility and usage rights. This experience highlighted the need to consider both technical and legal aspects when working with digital content. Overall, I gained a better understanding of the different types of media and how they can be used...properly!
