(A LITTLE ABOUT ME)
Hi! My name is A.W. I am enrolled in this Computer Science and Information Technology course as part of my pathway toward an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Mortuary Science at CCBC.
I originally graduated with my bachelor’s degree 14 years ago, and now I am back in school to pursue a new career that aligns with my evolving interests and goals. Returning to academics after some time in the professional world has been both exciting and challenging, and I am eager to apply the skills I learn in this course to real-world applications.
This ePortfolio is my space to share what I am learning and the projects I am working on along the way.
A Cache of My Favorite Things
"Going to the movies is my kind of therapy."
"A good book and a hot cup of tea...pure bliss."
"Music is my constant energy source."
This semester helped me see how much technology and digital organization are connected to everyday life. I learned a lot about how systems are designed to help people communicate, stay organized, and navigate information more easily. Even though I already used Microsoft Suite regularly, I discovered new tools and tricks, such as email rules, that helped me stay more organized. Throughout the semester, I gained a deeper understanding of digital media, file compatibility, and the importance of using content legally and properly. Some projects challenged me to think more deeply about topics like databases, the impact of social media, digital divides, and emerging technologies while also improving my research and presentation skills.
Overall, the ePortfolio project helped me connect these lessons together, strengthen my digital literacy, and improve my ability to organize and communicate information effectively. This experience made me more confident using technology and better prepared to apply these skills in real-life situations.
Many thanks, Professor Noone!
