CEPH Competency #13: Propose strategies to identify stakeholders and build coalitions and partnerships for influencing public health outcomes
The North Carolina Serious Illness Coalition has some great partnerships, but there are always ways to make things even better! One cool partnership is with local hospitals. This is awesome because it helps the coalition get important information to people facing serious illnesses. But, maybe they can have more events together to share knowledge and support.Another partnership is with community groups. These groups help spread the word about the coalition's work, and that's really good. However, maybe they could have more regular meetings to share ideas and plan events together. Now, for some new partnerships! Connecting with schools could be fantastic. Schools have students, families, and teachers who could benefit from knowing more about serious illnesses. The coalition could visit schools or organize special events to teach everyone about their mission.
Another new friend could be local businesses. Businesses are like big hubs in the community, and they can help with fundraising or even sponsor events. The coalition could talk to businesses about how they can work together for a healthier community. To get the new partners involved, the agency can host workshops, maybe even virtual ones, to share their mission and ideas. They can also create special projects together, like making educational materials for schools or organizing community events.Having schools and businesses as new partners will help the coalition reach more people and make their mission even stronger. Schools can help educate more families, and businesses can bring in resources and support. It's like building a big team to help everyone facing serious illnesses in North Carolina!
