Volleyball may just be a silly game of "keep the balloon off the ground", but it has taught me many valuable lessons that I will take into my teaching career.
I spent all four years of my college career as an NCAA Division II athlete. On and off the court, we need to be able to communicate schedules, game day plans, and so much more that I have learned to manage. I believe that these management tools have equipped me well to become a successful teacher. Since the first moment I stepped on the court as a tall, long-limbed, 9-year-old girl, I have been dedicated to volleyball, and have learned what it means to commit fully to something and work to get better at it every day. Throughout my journey as a student-athlete, I have found my voice and believe that it has taught me valuable time-management skills.
