Camp Reed

Camp Reed is a YMCA Summer Camp where I have spent time the past eight summers of my life. Camp is tucked away just North of Spokane, WA on Fan Lake (as pictured above). 

The mission of Camp Reed is: 

Our mission is to enhance personal growth, Christian values, and a sense of community in a safe wilderness setting. Through active participation in unique challenges and new relationships, Camp Reed transforms ideals into lasting behaviors. 

This mission is how I try to live my life, and working at Camp has helped many beneficial skills that I will take with me into my career as an educator. Working with children ages 5-15 is one of the most rewarding experiences and has shown me why I want to become a teacher. My experience at Camp has also provided me with exposure to a diverse group of children, equipping me with valuable skills for interacting with people of various background, much like I will encounter in my future role as a teacher.
