Figjam is an interactive whiteboard platform that integrates a variety of online media with in- site features. Figjam features include a hilarious name, whiteboard options like drawing and highlighting, graphic organizers and easy, color- coded sections and sticky notes. YouTube videos, images, and content from other platforms can be uploaded.
The Figjam project connects to the Danielson Framework through Domain 4: Principled Teaching. Figjam gives educators the chance to explore resources that are out there and to see what other educators are creating. In addition, you can publish your own creations and receive peer feedback.
In the classroom, Figjam can be used as a tool to collect students' votes or reactions to a prompt. It offers a sliding scale widget that allows students to assess how well they understood the lesson. In addition to presenting content on a single, giant slide, teachers can ask students to post digital stickynotes sharing their thoughts, or write on the digital whiteboard, using either a big screen for the whole group or multiple student devices.
