Project Management Specialist
Project: What makes this project unique is in Fall 2018, it was my first semster in the SBST program.
Assignment: Over the next three semster, our cohort would complete a section of the Seattle of City, Office of Sustainibility and Environment, Building Tune-up Program and presenting on our collective findings.
I was chose the building envelope portion of the building tune-up process. During my building walk-thru, I noticed water damage from the door/window that led from a classroom to the green roof.
I brought up the water damage during my Building Tune-up project presentation and what I believed to be the root cause of the water damage: Based on the location of the building relative to weather and wear pattern of the issue, I suggested the water was coming in from the weather strip and hardware being installed incorrectly when the building was constructed. My cohort disagreed.
A year later, it was a capital job order contract (JOC) project and I was assigned to coordinate that project while working for campus services with Forma Construction on my third state Job Order Contract (JOC) project.
It was concluded the water damage was caused by improper installation of weather stripping and hardware.
The pictures shown here reflect the Door/Window project.
