商工会 Half-Day Homestay

ポートランド商工会の紹介によるオレゴン在住の日本人家庭と、高校で日本語学習中の生徒が繋がる、宿泊なしのユニークなホームステイ企画です。１９９１年以来、オレゴンで日本語を学習中の高校生と日本人のご家族を結びつけ、文化交流の機会を提供しています。ホストファミリーと一緒に日本の家庭料理を作ったり、伝統的な遊びなどを楽しみ、日米参加者間の親交を深める事を目的としております。

This is a unique homestay program introduced through the Chamber of Commerce, connecting Japanese families residing in Oregon with high school students learning Japanese. It was initiated in 1991 and offers a non-residential cultural exchange experience. Participants have the opportunity to engage with host families, cook together, play games, and foster friendships.

参加生徒募集は１１月頃を予定しております。
A students’ application process will begin in November.

Process

1. First, ATJO will hear from the Shokookai of Portland regarding available families among the Japanese families temporarily in Oregon on business assignments (working at Shokookai member companies).

2. Teachers apply on behalf of all willing students at this application link. (Up to 8 students per teacher are allowed; only one form for all 8 is needed.)

3. Students will be matched to families according to the information they include on the application forms (allergies, etc).

4. Students' or students' guardians are responsible for transportation to and from their host families.
