Teaching Abroad

During the srping of 2023, I had the opportunity to study abroad in the Netherlands with an education program. I observed and taught in schools in the Netherlands, and for one week the program sent us to Valencia, Spain to teach students there.

We mainly taught English or facts about the US that students wouldn't know. It was a fun time to get to know how other countries run their education systems, and to reflect on ours.

Lesson Examples

Here's some examples of lessons I did in the K-5 setting. A lot of the lessons during my time there were based on Japanese traditions, so I got to teach my students how to draw different fish that were important there. I also helped the students make koinobori fish for Children's day and Kintsugi pots.
