Payout, Taxes & Service Fee
Payout, Taxes & Service Fee
Artist Alley Shop will send payouts for all Vendors' sales on the 1st of every month, or the 2nd if the 1st falls on a holiday or a day when the shop is closed.
Vendors get 100% of the amount of their sales. It is each artist's responsibility to handle taxes on their side. Artist Alley Shop does not provide any tax documentation.
Artist Alley Shop only acts as a sales agent for your products, and not as a reseller. Purchases at our place are considered pass-through transactions only. We do not charge customers the HST on Vendors' sales. If you need to charge sales tax on your product, you should include it in your retail price.
The law states that a business making more than $30,000 in revenue per year must be registered as a company and must pay taxes. If you fall under this category, it is your duty to be officially registered as a business to charge and pay taxes.
Fee Collection
On every purchase at our store, a 15% service fee is charged to customers.
This service fee allows vendors to keep 100% of their sales while helping us cover essential business costs. It ensures that we can sustain ourselves and grow as a company, since our operations rely not only on vendor rent but also on sales revenue.
Rent Collection
The shelf rent payments start on the day you start vending in the shop, and it is collected automatically the same day of each subsequent month.
In the case of a late payment, your payout will be withheld until the payment is made. We will send you a late notice after 3 days of not receiving the payment.
If any of the following situations occur:
Your payment is more than 15 days late, or
You receive more than 3 late notices within a 6-month period,
your contract will be immediately terminated, your products will be removed from the shop, and your last month’s deposit will be applied to cover the current month’s payment.
