Who is Ar Teaghlach?

Ar Teaghlach is a family-owned family of clinics dedicated to providing exceptional maternity care within Second Life. Our aim is simple: to create welcoming, supportive spaces where every family can feel cared for, valued, and at home.

Our name, Ar Teaghlach (pronounced “Ar Chay-lach”), means “Our Family” in Scottish Gaelic — a name that reflects the heart of everything we do.

The name was chosen in honour of our founder and first Head Doctor, Dr. Tam Dalgaard, whose Scottish heritage and passion for compassionate maternity care helped shape the foundations of Ar Teaghlach.

More than a collection of clinics, Ar Teaghlach is a community — built around care, connection, family, and the belief that every birth experience should be something truly special.

Dr. Tam L. Dalgaard

At the heart of Ar Teaghlach is our founder and Head Doctor, Dr. Tam Dalgaard, a Mama Allpa-certified OB/GYN with more than 10 years of experience in Second Life obstetrics. Dr. Dalgaard has been Mama Allpa certified since November 2020 and brings extensive experience working with a wide range of pregnancy systems, with a particular fondness for LoveMomma and Mama Allpa.

Ar Teaghlach is committed to maintaining a consistent standard of care across our services. For this reason, Hands on Mommy pregnancies are only supported when the system is synced with Mama Allpa, with no exceptions.

A Personal & Immersive Experience

Dr. Dalgaard founded Ar Teaghlach with a simple goal: to provide a caring, high-quality maternity experience for Second Life families, including those who may not have the opportunity to experience pregnancy and birth in the same way in the real world.

We believe your pregnancy should be as immersive as you want it to be. Our approach combines professional care with detailed roleplay, incorporating realistic measurements, blood pressure readings, ultrasounds, personalised experiences, and fully roleplayed births. We also take care to maintain realistic timeframes and create personalised mementos, helping make your pregnancy and birth feel like a complete and memorable journey.

Above all, we want you to feel at home.

Our clinics are designed to be warm, welcoming, and comfortable while still maintaining a professional standard of care. Dr. Dalgaard's approach to roleplay reflects this philosophy — friendly, relaxed, and conversational rather than overly formal. She believes that creating a genuine connection with our patients is an important part of providing a memorable experience.

This warm and informal approach is an intentional part of who we are. At Ar Teaghlach, we don't believe professionalism has to mean being distant. You can expect expert care, a welcoming atmosphere, and a doctor who will make you feel like part of the family.

Dr. Iona Faidh

Professional Moose Maternity Care

Dr. Iona Faidh, OB/GYN, is a valued member of the Ar Teaghlach Medical & Maternity team, known for her warm, compassionate approach and personalised patient care.

A Mama Allpa Certified Doctor since July 2024, Dr. Faidh has been part of Second Life since 2010 and brings extensive experience in maternity roleplay, HUD systems, and technical support. She is particularly knowledgeable about HUD add-ons and is happy to help patients with troubleshooting and setup.

Care With Compassion

Dr. Faidh believes every patient should feel heard, respected, and involved in their own maternity journey. Her approach combines professional care with genuine warmth, creating realistic and immersive roleplay while allowing each patient to choose the level of realism that suits them.

With Dr. Faidh, patients can expect:

Dr. Faidh currently welcomes patients using a HUD speed of 4 hours or more per SL day, allowing plenty of time for a relaxed and enjoyable pregnancy experience.

Please note: Dr. Faidh keeps her personal Second Life friends list for friends and does not accept friend requests from patients or prospective patients. Patients can still contact her through the appropriate Ar Teaghlach channels for all maternity-related communication.

Dr. Mela Puddles

Puddles Prenatal & Pediatric Care

Having been part of Ar Teaghlach Medical & Maternity for several years, both as a patient and now as an obstetrician, Dr. Mela Puddles understands firsthand what makes the Ar Teaghlach experience so special. Her own experiences have been positive, welcoming, and uplifting — an environment where patients are treated like family and every pregnancy journey is valued.

Now, she is passionate about providing that same experience to her own patients: a journey filled with care, excitement, memorable moments, and experiences to cherish.

Dr. Mela has been Mama Allpa certified since April 2024 and Really Needy certified since September 2024, and is active within both communities. She can offer roleplay-only births as well as pregnancies using LoveMomma and Hands on Mommy (HOC), and is always happy to explore and learn other pregnancy systems that her patients may use.

Her approach is centred around flexibility and personalisation. She believes every parent should be able to experience pregnancy in the way that feels right for them, whether they prefer a highly immersive and realistic experience or something more relaxed and roleplay-focused. Her goal is to help each patient create a pregnancy journey that is uniquely their own.

Dr. Mela is an English speaker and can also work with translation tools where needed. This is handled on a case-by-case basis, so prospective patients are encouraged to get in touch to discuss their individual needs.

And, of course, there is one other important detail about Dr. Mela: she may have a slight obsession with Animesh babies! ♥

Dr. Rory Connolly

Connolly Maternity Care

Dr. Rory “Ro” Connolly is a Scotland-based maternity practitioner with a warm, relaxed approach to patient care. Originally from the Scottish Highlands, Rory brings more than 15 years of real-world experience working as a nurse in residential care, alongside his experience within Second Life maternity roleplay.

Rory has been Mama Allpa certified since January 2024 and is passionate about creating a welcoming and inclusive experience for his patients. He is proud to provide care to a diverse range of families, including furries and pregnant men, and believes that every family should feel comfortable and respected throughout their experience.

A Friendly & Personal Approach

Rory's style is intentionally informal and approachable. While maintaining professionalism in his care, he prefers to create an environment where patients feel relaxed and able to enjoy their experience without unnecessary formality.

For practical reasons, Rory asks that patients communicate in reasonably fluent English, as he prefers not to rely on translation tools when discussing care and roleplay. Patients should also have their pregnancy HUD configured to a minimum of 4 hours per SL day to allow for an appropriate pace of care.

Rory keeps his personal Second Life friends list reserved for close friends, so friend requests from prospective patients are not accepted. However, staying in contact is easy — offline messages are forwarded to email, and patients can also reach him through the Ar Teaghlach Discord community.
