Why do you charge for maternity care now? I thought it was free.

For almost four years, maternity care was offered completely free of charge. While we genuinely enjoyed providing that service, doing so on a long-term basis became increasingly difficult and eventually led to burnout.

The work involved much more than appointments, including personalised roleplay, ultrasound graphics, birth certificates, and other mementos — often without any compensation.

To make the service sustainable while still keeping maternity care accessible, we introduced a range of care packages, including a free Basic Universal Care package for those who need a simple option.

The free package provides essential maternity care, while our paid packages offer additional services and extras.

How much does it cost to become a patient?

Our Basic Universal Care package is completely free.

This includes:

• Two prenatal appointments

• A roleplayed birth

• A custom birth certificate

Can you scan my Mama Allpa HUD?

Yes! There are a couple of things to keep in mind.

Your HUD must be past Day 25 before a pregnancy will appear correctly on a scan.

If you would like the full pregnancy information revealed, we generally prefer to perform this around Week 20. As roleplayers ourselves, we feel that discovering information naturally during pregnancy makes the experience more enjoyable.

If you simply want confirmation that you are pregnant, however, we're more than happy to help you get set up.

What services do you provide?

Every patient receives a roleplayed maternity experience, regardless of which package they choose.

Depending on your package, this may include:

• Prenatal appointments

• Ultrasounds

• Pregnancy monitoring

• Personalised roleplay

• A fully roleplayed birth

• Custom birth mementos

Our aim is to make your pregnancy feel immersive, memorable, and personal.

Do you accept pregnant men or furry parents?

Absolutely! 💛

Ar Teaghlach Medical & Maternity welcomes families from all walks of Second Life, and we do not judge our patients based on their avatar or family structure.

We do ask that your HUD is configured to Human settings, with a 28-day cycle and 280-day gestation.

If you need help adjusting your HUD, simply let us know when you book your appointment and we'll be happy to help.

How do I book an appointment?

Appointments can be booked through our online booking page. Please take a moment to read the information and guidelines provided before selecting your appointment.

When contacting us directly, please include a little information about what you need help with rather than simply saying “Hi”. This helps us understand whether you're looking to book an appointment, ask a question, or speak with a particular doctor.

Do you use voice during roleplay?

Voice is available if you prefer it, but our usual preference is text-based roleplay.

Dr. Tam and Dr. Rory do not use voice for clinic roleplay. Written roleplay also allows you to save your appointments and experiences as notecards, giving you something to keep as a memory of your pregnancy journey.

Can I bring my family to appointments?

Of course! Partners, family members, and friends are welcome to share these special moments with you.

We simply ask that guests use the seating provided where possible so they don't get in the way during appointments.

We also ask everyone to be mindful of script and avatar complexity. Very high complexity can place additional strain on everyone's viewer performance, so keeping things reasonable helps create a smoother experience for everyone.

Do you provide babies to take home after birth?

We do not normally provide scripted babies. Parents are responsible for purchasing and setting up their own baby, and we're always happy to recommend some of our favourite stores.

In special circumstances, we may be able to provide a generic baby. These babies have very limited scripting, generally consisting only of a basic hold function, and are available for L$150 each.

What if I no longer want to continue my pregnancy?

We understand that circumstances can change during a pregnancy.

If you are considering ending your pregnancy, we encourage you to take some time before making a final decision. Relationship difficulties and other circumstances can sometimes change, and we want you to feel certain about your choice.

If, after giving yourself some time to consider it, you still wish to end the pregnancy, your doctor can provide you with step-by-step instructions for doing so.

Do you provide birth certificates?

We create personalised birth certificates for our patients, and a custom birth certificate is included with Basic Universal Care.

Examples of our mementos can also be viewed in the clinic lobby.

What if my HUD scan says something different from what I want?

That's completely fine!

Your New Patient Form includes an opportunity to let us know your preferences regarding information revealed during your pregnancy. Simply tell us what you'd like, and we'll do our best to accommodate your wishes while keeping your experience enjoyable.
