What to expect from us before delivery!
Ar Teaghlach Medical wants to give you a memorable birthing experience. With many settings ranging from natural outdoor beauty to a homelike environment, we can cater to your wishes. This choice is yours, keeping in mind that some beds in the clinic birthing room are set up for specific systems. It may not work with the system you are using. If you asked for a tour, you will be taken around and shown the facilities before D day so you can choose your location. The grounds are available to explore when you wish provided there is not a delivery taking place.
Your privacy and experience are important to us and the sim is locked while the little bundle(s) of happiness is being delivered. Questions or concerns can be discussed with your doctor prior to your delivery day.
Familiarize yourself with the hints and guidelines below. It is expected that you and your guests will adhere to them to contribute to the day's smooth running roleplay.
It's finally happening...what's next?
Your Doctor will be sending you a notecard that contains a Google Form link. Please fill it out as it is for the birth certificate information as well as gifts and roleplay options. We will be looking for it on the day of the birth roleplay. You need to purchase your premium location by today so preparations can be made. If you have not, the standard package will be used.
***If you are a Hands on Mommy user PLEASE read your handbook titled "Labor & Delivery Handbook - Hands on Mommy" prepared for you by your provider. Do not come to the clinic before you are in active labor and close to transition. Hands on Mommy's labor can take 10 plus hours, so if you are triggering labor via the hud, please do so at 10 hours before your appointment, or we will change you to transition once you are there to deliver.***
When you arrive, you will have already been experiencing contractions so you will be settled into the area of your choice for the labor to progress. Feel free to ham it up! Curse your partner, threaten them with bodily harm, swear, growl, anything to help the roleplay and make it fun for you. Each area will have items and poses you can use to roleplay this. Your Doctor may be giving you cues in your private messages to help the roleplay go smoothly. It is important that you be attentive. If anything is going to be a lengthy distraction, PLEASE reschedule to a time when it will not be.
Being in voice in Discord/Skype during your roleplay that is not your doctor is considered RUDE and if you are showing signs that your attention is not on the happenings in the clinic, we will reschedule you with a warning.
The baby will be cleaned up, weighed and given a general health exam and their newborn shots before being returned to you. This will be done via roleplay. You do not need to "give" your Doctor your prim/animesh baby. Read below about how babies work for more information on this.
Afterwards, your Doctor will announce the birth in various places such as the Ar Teaghlach Medical Clinic Discord server and/or the Ar Teaghlach Medical website. After the delivery, you are welcome to continue the roleplay using the recovery room or the recovery bed in the area you choose. Your Doctor will let you know how long the room is available for your use.
What about the baby? How will that work?
Your comfort during the roleplay is very important at Ar Teaghlach Medical. Your Doctor does NOT need to have possession of the baby you wish to use. They will let you know when to add your baby during the roleplay. There is a place available that you can rezz your baby if you wish to do so.
There are several options available for babies. Many stores in Second Life offer prop infants with no motion or sound ect. Zooby, Suki and Funsies have animesh babies, to name a few. Any set up for the baby should be done in advance if you wish to use them as part of your delivery roleplay.
Babies are NOT included as part of clinic services.
Here are a few helpful tips and guidelines!
🌻🐤🐺 Prepare an outfit in advance for your delivery. Remove all unnecessary huds, jewelry, body lights and deactivate any gestures needed before saving it. This will make getting ready a snap. If you do not know how to make an outfit in Second life, please ask.
🌻🐤🐺 Your modesty and comfort are important. You can wear a sports bra style top, use a provided hospital gown, or be completely nude. Below the belly must be uncovered for birth.
🌻🐤🐺 Partners or coaches must be clothed. A bathing suit is fine for a water birth. They should come ready for the birth process. It makes the transition easier.
🌻🐤🐺 Prepare a second outfit for post delivery. You can use a previous pregnancy shape such as a first trimester one or go back to your prebaby size. It is up to you.
🌻🐤🐺 INFORM your guests of expectations before they arrive. Remove huds, no gestures, keep talking to a minimum so as not to interrupt roleplay, low lag outfits, and use the provided seating. They MUST be on time. Arriving after the labor has started is not permitted unless it is from a relog. Do NOT teleport people right into the scene. They will be asked to leave or ejected if they choose to disregard these requests.
🌻🐤🐺 You and your guests are welcome to take photographs. If you need your Doctor to slow down a little so you can get that perfect shot just let them know in a private message.
