What Happens at Each Appointment?
🌻 the Consultation
► On your first visit, you'll be meeting me, having your HUD scanned, and choosing a package. Questions will be answered, and if you're before week 10 some basic maternal wellbeing checks will be carried out, as well as a pregnancy test if you wish. You will be required to provide a urine sample - I will instruct you on the day on how to do this. This first visit is not part of your chosen package,
Note: Even if you choose the free Basic Universal Care, you will need to pay 1L (which will be refunded automatically) to the correct vendor. This will put you into our records..
🌻 week 10 / stage 3 - Nuchal Scan
► This is an exciting day for you! We will be taking a first peek inside you, to see how many little ones we have. Maternal wellbeing checks will be carried out and fetal heartbeat/s will be counted. These will be done via a special sensor that I will give to you. Then comes the ultrasound - checking on baby's development and size, placenta attachment and position, and amniotic fluid level. Your weight will also be checked - I know, ew.
🌻 week 20 / stage 5 - the Anatomy Ultrasound
► This is exactly what it sounds like. Once Maternal wellbeing checks are carried out and fetal heartbeat/s checked via the sensor, I'll have you laying back on the ultrasound table so that I can do some physical checks - water retention in the ankles and legs, and a basic mapping of the baby's position - then I'll check fundal height before we bring the baby/s up on the ultrasound again. This time I will be looking for physical deformities such as a cleft palate or a deformed spine, and doing a thorough check on the placenta. You'll also get the option to have the gender revealed to you.
🌻 week 25 / stage 6 - Labs & Bloodwork
► Hope you're not afraid of needles - this is the visit I will be taking a vial of blood to test. I will be looking for more than just positive HCG in your labs; there are often indicators for hereditary conditions, or Down's Syndrome in blood work. These are just a few I will be keeping an eye out for.
🌻 week 30 / stage 7 - the standard Check-up
► Nothing fancy in this one. Basic vitals from both you and baby/s via sensor, checking their heartbeat as well as your physical condition. Urine sample will be needed, same as the very first appointment you had with me. I will be asking some easy questions about your health and diet. This appointment may not be included in your chosen package.
🌻 week 35 / stage 9 - the Positioning Ultrasound
► Almost a carbon copy of the week 20 ultrasound. I will be checking vitals via sensor, physical checks for water retention and a basic mapping of the baby's position, making sure they are in the correct position for birth. In the ultrasound, I will be measuring the baby and checking development of the limbs and skull. A GBS (Group B Strep) swab will be also be taken at this appointment, and a delivery day book with extra information for you to read will be given to you.
🌻 week 38 / Birth Prep
► You'll be taken on a tour of the grounds and clinic this visit - you may choose what kind of birth you'd like here, as well as your memento if you've paid for a package that includes one or more. Your Labor & Delivery handbook will be gone over if you need any clarification or have questions on your birth RP.
🌻 week 40 / end of stage 9 - the Delivery Day
► Today's the day! Make sure you read the Delivery Day Guide on this site - I've also given you a delivery day book with some handy info for you to read. Any other questions about it, let me know!
