Totem Pole

Students explore traditional visual storytelling by learning how the peoples of the Pacific Northwest use totem poles to celebrate family history. Students use clay balls to create animals and monsters that either represent family members or are just plain fun to make. After they are fired, we'll watercolor them and then string them together to create our totem chains.
