Grade 11 Media Art is an open level credit in which any student may enroll. Since it is an open level credit, students are not expected to have any prior knowledge about any art practice. This course is designed to introduce those who are not artistically inclined to digital media. Students will have the opportunity to learn industry programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator through user friendly tutorials and hands-on projects. Throughout this course, students will learn how to take creative photographs and edit them for printing. Additionally, they will learn how to create effective collages and simple digital drawings. This course also examines non-traditional arts such as stop-motion animation using clay and creating wearable art through the application of heat-transfer vinyl. This is a great option for any student who either wants to improve or explore their creative thinking skills in different ways or for a student who simply needs to meet their art elective requirement.
