I was born in 1978 in Santiago, Chile, in Latin America.
I am just one of the thousands of voices from around the world, in all languages, on all continents, who intend to speak out to expose irregularities and illegalities related to international adoption, to break the silence and bring some justice to all the adoptees, adoptive and biological families.
To date, no formal proof of any abduction at birth has been established, however, a complaint has been filed with the court in Santiago and an investigation is underway. Several elements suggest that the circumstances surrounding my birth remain obscure. Many points still remain unanswered...
It is essential to clarify that I am not questioning the legitimacy of all adoptions. Situations are varied and generalization would be inappropriate. Nevertheless, similarities exist between certain cases studied around the world.
My story, which I share in a book (🟧Puzzle), is that of a little boy who, four decades later, returns to the land where he was born. It is the tale of an extraordinary adventure of an ordinary man.
At the end of my trip, in the queue at the airport, we met the director of programmes for the Chilevision television channel. She was interested in our meeting and suggested we do a report, which we did:
I learned upon my return that the judge of the Court of Appeal appointed to investigate and rule on these adoption cases, had intervened (🟧 The Clinic article).
I am honored to have donated, on 28/11/2025, my book to the Museum of Memory and Human Rights Foundation in Santiago, to support its strategy of reflection, education, awareness and promotion of a culture based on respect for human rights.
I hope, through my voice, to give a little push to other adoptees who might be in the same situation; to give them the impetus that I needed myself to take the step of confronting my past and reconstructing the puzzle of my life.
