Travel advisory

The local elections are on February 19 in Lucknow and Kanpur and it is strongly advised not to travel on this date. Please plan your travels such that you are either here on Feb 18 or Feb 20. 

Getting from Lucknow airport to IIT Kanpur

Most of you are arriving at the Lucknow airport and in view of the many different anticipated timings, we are not arranging any pick up. You can take a cab directly from the airport and arrive at IIT Kanpur.  The journey takes about an hour and a half (provided there is not much traffic). The price should be around 1500 INR (plus toll taxes which come out to be around 150 INR more). 

After you get to IIT Kanpur

Due to the infinite grace of the State administration, (many rooms of) the normal guest house is booked for politicians during this period. So you are being put up in what is called the guest house extension. Apologies for this.. but one argues with UP politicians at her/his own peril. Please take your cab to the guest house extension on your arrival. 

Venue

The venue for the conference would be the big conference room in the Outreach building just beside main guest house (Visitor's hostel). All the talks would be held there. We will also arrange for that to be kept open for discussions after the day's talks are done. 

Food

Breakfast would be arranged at the main guest house which as just mentioned in the centre for the conference. The talks start from 10 am and the breakfast will be served till 9-45 am. 

We would also have lunch there. 

Dinners we leave at your discretion. There are a lot of little joints and canteens all over the campus which serve good food.
