I work in theoretical high energy physics, specifically in quantum field theory, gravitational physics and string theory.
An updated list of my publications can be accessed through the following links: inSPIRE, Google Scholar.
Some specifics:
I am interested in understanding the workings of the Holographic Principle, which is an enigmatic correspondence between gravity and non-gravitational theories in one lower dimension. I also work on string theory and quantum field theories, with a focus on unconventional symmetries, beyond the usual relativistic domain. Below are some details.
Holography for Asymptotically flat spacetimes
The main focus of my recent research has been the attempt at a formulation of holography for asymptotically flat spacetimes, away from its usual setting in Anti de Sitter spacetimes. During the 2010s, my collaborators and I mainly concentrated our attention on three dimensional gravitational theories where the formulation of the problem is made easier by the existence of a large number of symmetries.
My current focus is the formulation of Flat holography in the physically relevant four dimensions. Our approach is now called the Carrollian approach and posits a co-dimension one dual field theory living on the null boundary. This is to be contrasted with the Celestial approach to flat holography, which proposes a dual CFT living on the co-dimension two celestial sphere at infinity.
Tensionless strings
I am interested in understanding various singular limits of string theory. A particularly enigmatic domain is the tensionless limit of strings that offers a window into the behaviour of string theory at ultra high energies.
For those who may be interested in further details of the research carried out in our group, here are two recent review that cover our recent interests:
The Carrollian Kaleidoscope - (invited review for European Journal of Physics C)
Carrollian symmetries form an underlying theme of our recent research. This is a comprehensive review of the rapidly developing field of Carrollian physics, including applications to holography in asymptotically flat spacetimes, condensed matter systems and hydrodynamics.
The Tensionless Lives of Null Strings - (invited review for Physics Reports)
This is a detailed review on tensionless null strings with a description of the early work in the field followed by the work of our group since 2013.
