Final Proposal
Module 5 Description/Overview:
In this module, you will develop the Final Proposal that will bring together all your work from past modules. This document will showcase your need for training and/or skill upgrade pertaining to your occupation of interest. The Final Proposal is a key component to your potential training approval- please ensure it is completed fully and concisely. Remember:
• An example is provided for your reference
• A typed Final Proposal document is required for final submission.

If using Google Docs to complete your documents: Do not click "request edit access". Instead, select "File" then "Save as Google Docs". This will copy the document into your private Google Drive.
To get started with this module, you will need your Career Assessment Results, Career Pathways & Occupational Research, Employment Suitability Profile, and Master Employment History.

Instructions:
Step 1: My Career Background
Write a paragraph describing your career background, education and/or special certifications.
Ensure to highlight any transferable skills from your past experience to the field you want to pursue.
Step 2: My Research Indicates the Following
Review three (3) job leads listed on your occupational research form. Narrow your selection down to 1 final choice. Utilize the information documented to write a paragraph describing position duties, education, key skills, Arizona wages, benefits, and projects for growth (see example).
Step 3: Short-Term Goal (12 months or less)
Specify your career goals and/or training that you would like to pursue.
Highlight potential "schools" or Training Providers that you would like to attend if training is approved. See this page for detailed instructions on how to search the AZ Job Connection Website for training providers.
Identify 3 training providers listed on the AZ Job Connection website.
Complete the Training Provider Research document to guide conversation with your Career Adviser.
Current program funding supports short-term goals. Highlight your short-term goals within the next 12 months. Examples:
License: Did you career assessment results and occupational research showcase that you would be a good fit as a CDL driver or Certified Nursing Assistant? With program funding, explain how obtaining your license would expedite your return to the workforce. Also, provide name of training provider you would like to attend.
Certifications: Did you Career Assessment Results and occupational research showcase that you have strong skills and workplace values that match a career in project management? With program funding, explain how obtaining your certification would expedite your return to the workforce. Also, provide name of training provider you would like to attend.
Higher Education: Are you only 1 or 2 classes away from a degree program? Did your results showcase that you have personality traits that are a good fit in social work? With program funding, explain how obtaining your higher education would expedite your return to the workforce. Also, provide name of training provider you would like to attend.
Step 4: Long-Term (12 months or greater)
If relevant, describe how your short-term goals lead to long-term goals.
Accomplishments of short-term goals may contribute to setting a firm foundation for long-term goals
Example: Obtaining a Certified Nursing Assistant license (short-term goal) to become a Registered Nurse (long-term goal).
Step 5: Barriers to completing my goal
Identify the barriers that potentially prevent you from accomplishing your goals.
Disclosing potential barriers may generate conversations with your Career Advisor to identify support solutions.
Examples: Lack of childcare, transportation, funding for training, etc.
Step 6: My plan: (Job Search/Training/ Internship/ on the job training/Networking/Volunteering)
Describe the components of your plan (such as an internship, temporary, part-time employment) that may assist you to continue moving forward while attending training to upgrade your skills.
Step 7: Submit your completed module 5 to your assigned trainer for review.
