Good morning APR,
Here's another song for anyone who's interested in participating in Song Scenes - drawing a picture based off of what we hear in a song! Every week, I'll submit a new instrumental song for anybody who's interested. This week's song is called "Anything" by An Endless Sporadic, and it's a fast-paced, quick-to-change song that I think could be a lot of fun to draw a scene to.
The steps are the same as previous weeks: listen to the song, draw your scene, and (if you're interested in sharing,) upload your drawing on the Song Scenes Google Classroom (the password to join is 'bdb4x5m.')
I hope you all enjoy the song! Let me know if you have any questions!

Hello everyone,
Here's another song for anyone who's interested in participating in Song Scenes - drawing a picture based off of what we hear in a song. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough participants last week to make a collage, but I still want to keep this going each week for anyone who's interested in trying this activity out.
This week's song is called "Passepied" - originally published by Claude Debussy in 1905 and covered by Punch Brothers in 2015.
The steps are the same as last week: listen to the song, draw your scene, and upload your drawing on the Song Scenes Google Classroom (the password to join is 'bdb4x5m.')
I hope you all enjoy the song! Let me know if you have any questions!

Good morning APR family,
Here are the directions for our first Song Scene!
This week’s song is Frederic Chopin’s Etude in A Flat Major.
(You may listen as many times as you want - some people may start drawing immediately after listening to the song, but others may want to listen several times to get a better overall idea of the music's mood and direction.)
For generating ideas, try answering some of the following questions:
1.) What emotions does this piece bring out? Does it feel more happy or more sad? Is it calm or chaotic? Why do you think so?
2.) Where do you imagine hearing a piano piece like this being played?
3.) How would you describe the music altogether? Is it fast or slow? Smooth or jagged?
I've created a Google classroom for everybody to use to upload their scenes. The code to join the classroom is:
bdb4x5m
All you have to do is take a picture of your scene and submit it for this week's song scene as an attachment.
I will collect all the scenes submitted at the end of the day Friday and create a collage of them over this upcoming weekend. The more people that participate, the bigger and better our collage will be!
Please let me know if anybody has any questions or comments for this activity. This is its first week, so there may be some needed clarifications or technical difficulties to overcome.
Stay healthy and safe, and I hope to see you all very soon!

Hey APR family,
Hope you’re all doing well and staying safe. I have a fun weekly activity I’d like to try out starting this upcoming Monday called “Song Scenes.”
Monday morning, I will post a song on this page for anybody who is interested to draw a scene based on what they hear. You can add anything to your scene - characters, dialogue, buildings, weather, plants, animals, etc. - so long as it portrays what you are hearing in the music. I will figure out a way that you can submit your scenes, and I will let anybody interested submit a scene between Monday-Friday (3/23-3/28.) Next weekend, I will compile them and make a collage of our collected work!
More directions, clarifications, and logistics to come in the next couple days. Check this page again on Monday morning If you’re interested in participating!
Best,
Mr. Patterson
