Live PE, ART, & MUSIC Sessions have begun! JOIN IN!
Write a brief travel journal entry from your home: could be your living room, could be your bed. Write as though you've just arrived in a new place (because, in many ways, you have) and what you're observing about the place and how you feel in it.
Then turn this into a drawing: a map complete with notes about this foreign land's customs, rituals, and routines.

OBSERVE and write:
Write what you see, hear, and touch, as though it's all brand new. What are you learning about yourself in this different land, with all its deprivations?
Take NOTE and pull out:
What key visuals should I include in my drawing to SHOW some of these observations? (And what should I leave out from what is there, in reality)?
DRAW:
Sketch or just draw a map complete with notes about this foreign land's customs, rituals, and routines. Draw the couch (now your "private island"?), your new best friend (a potted cactus in the window)? Whatever you elements that make your foreign place specific... show! Describe!
LABEL: Add funny or tourist-like labels.

Example for Zoom Session:
Step 1: Observe my window nook:
A big bay-window
2 Comfy chairs
Many plants my partner takes care of
A quilt my Mother-in-Law gave me
A green pillow of my Nana's
A table with many half-full water glasses
A laptop that is my lifeline to the world
A hanging heart-pendant from my niece, Lucy
Light I need, because I am just a house-plant
The houses outside
It feels warm and bright, golden
The air is still
I am held by my chair, but sometimes held back- it feels like an island
The plants are my coworkers, I notice their daily changes, their health, and when they need water
Extras:
I'm going to add my dog, Mister, to the drawing because he is always sleeping there, keeping me company
I'm going to add plates that he's licked, on the floor
Draw what is OUTSIDE of your window, as if you were a tourist or a spy... (this is what we will be doing for an assignment in the future, too).
