· Fold bills separately according to denomination.
· Crinkle new bills (prevents sticking).
· Coins can be identified tactilely by the edges, and different sizes and thicknesses.
· Know the exact amount of money in the wallet before starting out.
· Try to pay with the amount closest to the total.
· Ask sales clerks to identify the denomination of bills and coins when making change.
· Banks can order checks in large print.
· Templates and signature guides are available for signing checks.
· Ask someone at the bank to balance checkbook.
· Set up automatic withdrawals and payments to lessen check writing.
· Request bills in large print or braille from utility companies and credit card companies.
· Before leaving home, take only cards or credit cards that you will need.
· Keep the ones you do not use as often in a zippered purse pocket.
· When checking out at a store, hold wallet in hand vs. laying it on the counter.
· Do not set credit card on counter. Let clerk take it from your hand.
