The purpose of the visually impaired support group, the booklet, and its presence on the internet is to provide encouragement and direction to people effected either directly or indirectly by vision loss as well as for people that just wish to learn more about visual impairment.
Vision loss for someone doesn’t have to mean that life is over, rather our group would encourage looking at it as a new beginning. Yes, it is true that one may not be able to do things that they once could do. This is also true for adults as they go through the aging process. The key to accepting change is being able to adapt to your new environment and finding innovative ways to accomplish the important things in life.
We hope that you will find this material useful in improving your quality of life. Feel free to provide comments or suggestions of ways that we could enhance the lives of those that have experienced vision loss.
