In the 1970s, Bangladesh had one of the highest TFRs in the world, with an average of around 7 children per woman.
Over the years, the TFR has seen a significant decline. By the early 2000s, it had decreased to around 3 children per woman.
And the current fertility rate for Bangladesh in 2023 is 1.930 births per woman
