Get Over It excluding Piano are coming back from yet another release party. They are just about to get to the front of the garage.
Viola: Wait a second guys. Can we talk before we head in?
Triplet: Sure, what's up?
Everybody gathers around.
Viola: I dunno, I've just been thinking recently. Like Pianos young. Are we good role models or whatever?
Forte: smiles You always talk more casual when you're stressed about something, so this means you actually care about this.
Viola: Of course I do! I mean, she's eleven. She's not in school, she's doing something illegal, learning how to beat up cops. Shouldn't we, you know have more responsibility for her?
Fortissimo: I don't know about you, but I didn't sign up to be a parent.
Viola: Well, like it or not, we're her guardians now, so maybe we should do something about it.
Crotchet: And what do you suggest we do exactly? She definitely isn't keen to go back home. We definitely wont put her in school, she'll be registered and found by HARM immediately. She seems completely fine to me.
Triplet: Viola, I get it. But it's her choice to be here. It's her choice to stay here and it's her choice to look at us as role models or not. She's choosing to be here. We don't have any right to take her away from that.
Viola: I just feel awful. She doesn't have any sort of family to teach her what's right and wrong and by any means we are teaching her the wrong.
Forte: She was already insistent on doing the wrong when we first met her. I don't think we changed much.
Viola: I mean she wasn't going around beating up cops. She wasn't learning vulgar words or getting brought up on snacks, cup ramen and fast food.
Triplet: I mean we don't really have much choice when it comes to the cops, kinda have to beat them up or else Piano is going to end up in a much worse place than here anyways. We don't have a kitchen or anything to have like full meals, I doubt any of us know how to cook anyways. Piano seems fine either way, she isn't gaining weight or feeling lethargic, so I don't really see the problem.
Forte: The swears are something we can fix though. Gonna be a problem after being so used to them for so long but I think we can all make an effort with that.
Crotchet: I'm telling you Forte, it really doesn't matter. Have you heard Piano say one swear the entire time she's been with us despite us talking with them for ages? She's fine.
Fortissimo: Exactly, I don't know what the big deal is. She's been brill for ages and whatever we do, she always seems happy and that's the main thing. Also I'm not losing my duet partner, she's amazing and hits notes I cant, so she isn't going anywhere if I have anything to say about it.
Viola frowns.
Viola: I didn't say she needed to go anywhere. I just feel like we should be doing something more, I suppose.
Triplet: It's her choice Viola. She wants to be here, she wants to stay. If she doesn't like us or what we do, she also has the choice to not be here. We have no right to take that away from her or make any choices for her. I'm definitely not going to be the person saying she has to leave because she's young. She's grown up quick and is making decisions for herself. Ill be honest she's far and away the kindest out of all of us. Id say she's making some great choices. We don't need to take responsibility and be her guardians or whatever. She's responsible for herself and I think she's doing pretty well so far despite us not being family or whatever. For me, I would hate to see her go if she chose to. I love her and she's a part of this band and it wouldn't be the same without her. She's an amazing friend and exceptionally skilled and talented.
Viola: I would hate to see her go too, I just wish we could do something more -
She gets cut off by Piano walking out of the garage, seeming to have listened to the entire conversation.
Piano: You guys are my family. Not in the way a actual family is. But you guys are the people I choose. You're who I want to hang out and spend time with all the time. You guys are the people I cant wait to perform with. This is where I want to be for the rest of my life. This is where I'm meant to be. I don't want to go anywhere else. I get to make that choice. I'm not going anywhere. I want to be here. I'm happier than I've ever been with you guys. I'm living my dream with the best people around me ever. I don't want to leave. I'm not leaving. Its my choice. I get to make them. I'm not leaving ever. You don't need to do anything more for me. You all are amazing the way you all are. This is exactly what I want. It's a family to me.
Viola: laughing Alright, Alright, we get it. For the record I didn't want you to go. You're amazing Piano and we all want you with us. I was just worried that these knuckleheads are going to rub off on you.
Piano: I don't mind! They're all awesome. But I'm also my own person, so I don't really have to follow what everyone else does.
Viola: Guess I was worried for nothing huh?
Triplet: Guess so! Told you Piano can handle herself. Right, lets head in and get to bed so we can actually practice with clear heads tomorrow.
Get Over It move into the garage. As they do Forte jogs over to Piano and messes up her hair playfully and this gets a small giggle out of Piano.
