Explanation of Biomes

Tundra

The tundra climate is located near the poles and at extremely high elevations, where big plants don't grow due to extremely cold weather. Typically the tundra land is either bare, or covered with grass and small bushes. During the summer, the grass is green. During the winter, all land is covered by white snow.

Taiga

The taiga climate is located in cold places, where only the most cold-resistant plants can grow, either in far north or in far south. It can also be found on the mountainsides of high peaks and on smaller mountains. Typically the taiga land is covered with evergreen trees, which have needles instead of leaves, as well as smaller annual bushes. Occasionally leafy trees can also be seen in taiga. During the summer, the weather is warm. During the winter, it's cold and snowy, but the evergreen trees keep their needles green all year round.

Forest

The forest climate is located in places with a moderate weather, which changes all-year round. Typically the forest land is covered with leafy trees, whose leaves turn yellow, brown or red, and fall off annually before winter, as well as many bushes and meadows. However it's possible for evergreen trees to grow among leafy trees. During the summer, the weather is warm or hot. During the winter, the weather is chilly, rainy or snowy.

Savanna

The savanna climate is located in warm places, with a lot of sunlight and moderate rainfall. Typically the savanna land is covered with a lot of grasses as well as tropical trees such as palms. Most tropical trees have wide crowns with no branches near the ground. Sometimes leafy or evergreen trees can be found in savanna climate. During the summer, it is hot and rainless. During the winter, it is chilly and rainy.

Jungle

The jungle climate is located in places, where it rains all year long. Typically the jungle land is overflowing with plantation, especially with wide variety of rainforest trees, as well as many other types of plants and trees, such as tropical and leafy trees. The weather remains almost the same during summer and winter, with a lot of rainy days and warm temperatures all the time.

Steppe

The steppe climate is located in places, where it doesn't rain a lot. Typically the steppe land is covered with grasses, and occasional bushes, all of which dry up during drought periods and revive once they receive water. During the summer, it can be either warm or hot. During the winter, it can be either rainy or snowy, but not a lot.

Desert

The desert climate is located in places, where it rains almost nothing. There are no plants there except for cacti. Typically the desert land is uncovered and consists of only sand or rocks. Occasionally a small plant can be found, but usually it's already dried up. It's hot during the day, and it's cold during the night.
