Education
Kindergarten
Kindergartens are educational facilities, where children learn the basics of all knowledge.
Most children enter the kindergarten as babies at the age of five or six. However, the age of pupils can be anywhere between four and eight years old.
In order to graduate from kindergarten children need to score a minimum of ninety percent of a basic knowledge test. Most children need about two to three years to learn all of basic knowledge. Children with outstanding talent can graduate earlier, and children with learning difficulties may take longer.
Schools
Schools are educational facilities, where children learn the basics of the area, they want to study, and later on they learn the specific major they want to focus on in the future.
Most children enter the school at the age of ten. However, the age of pupils can be as low as seven. There is no upper limit to the age of entering a school, however it's rare for anyone over the age of fourteen to start school.
Each school has its own system, which for majority of schools last nine years. However, based on conditions unique to each school system, the graduation may occur earlier or later.
List of Schools
(Schools are listed in the same order, as they are mentioned in the story.)School of Hestia - "the school name that was synonymous with failure. The school wasn’t known for anything other than the fact that it would accept any student. Its teachers and students were rather average in every aspect, and for most people this school was always the last option. Attending Hestia was always synonymous with failing to get accepted into any other “better” school."
School of Hades - "the school name itself brought apprehension and disgust upon faces of all law-abiding citizens. It was the only school avoided by anyone, except those with a criminal record. It was situated on a mountain in a remote desert, where access was difficult and the weather extreme. Throughout the year, it was insanely hot during the day and insanely cold during the night. Hades was a school, where most criminals sent their children, in order to teach them the skills necessary to stay alive in the underworld."
School of Athena - "was the most renowned school in the whole world and it accepted only the most intelligent students. Graduating Athena was a sure method to get a high paid position and a job among the most intelligent people, often working directly under the Emperor. To the parents, having a child accepted into Athena, was an honor and joy beyond words."
School of Hermes – "if there was a word to describe the school it would be “money”. The school revolved around money, business, market and trade. In any given century, the top ten richest people worldwide were always the graduates of Hermes. It was a school that was easy to get accepted into, but hard to graduate."
School of Ares – "the school for real men, as it was often described by its students and teachers. Anyone who ever dreamed of being a soldier had to graduate from Ares. History textbooks were filled with the names of amazing colonels, great generals, as well as outstanding marshals, and other military positions, all of whom were graduates of Ares."
School of Zeus - the school, which accepts only men from royal or noble household.
School of Hera - the school, which accepts only women from royal or noble household.
School of Nike - "was a school known for valuing independence. It was the only school, where connections, money and fame, meant nothing. The school was levitating high above the clouds, and constantly travelling through the sky. It was hard to know its position, and it was even harder to reach it. Anyone, who wanted to study in Nike, had to personally find that school, find a way to get there using their own skills, abilities, strength and brains. If the school found out that a student received help from anyone, that student would be disqualified and banned from the school of Nike forever."
School of Nemesis - "was a school with an uncertain reputation. Officially the school trained their students in the skills of investigating and spying, and there were famous graduates of Nemesis, who worked for the Emperor as good guys protecting the citizens, and catching the criminals. However, there were also some not-so-good assassins, who graduated from Nemesis."
School of Dionysus - "was the most expensive school of all. It was famous for all the luxury that it offered to the students and with the outstanding service it provided to its students, it could easily rival schools like Zeus or Hera. However, it wasn’t a school for royalty or nobility. Instead it was a school for anyone, who by some sort of an incredible luck got rich and didn’t need to study or work for the rest of his or her life."
School of Tyche - "was a rumor. Many researchers carefully checked every place throughout the whole earth in search of this rumored school, and officially it has never been found. Most people came to a conclusion that there was no such school. Yet some people still believed in its existence, and once in a while someone appeared, who claimed to have graduated from there."
School of Hypnos - "was a mystery school. At one glance, It was just an abandoned ruined building, which served as school premises, but never has anyone ever been attending any classes there. No one knew where the school held its classes, or what it taught. It did not accept applications, and the only way to get into the school was through the invitation. However, no one knew the criteria that Hypnos was using to choose its students, so it was always a surprise, when someone received an invitation from the school of Hypnos."
School of Hecate - "was a school of magic. Naturally, it wasn’t limited only to people with magical talents. Anyone interested in magic was allowed to attend. Those, who had the talent, could learn how to use magic that resided within them. And those, who had no magical talent, could learn how to produce or use magical items. After all, the second option required no magical talent, just a lot of knowledge."
School of Aphrodite - "was a special school, where scores were decided by one’s appearance and good looks. Certainly, everyone was allowed to apply, but the school was known to fail anyone, who wasn’t beautiful or handsome enough, so only the most beautiful and handsome people applied there. It was a school that some dreamed of attending, while others felt disgusted and wondered why it even existed."
