Artifact Description: For my Teaching music education course in the Spring'22, I created a class syllabus that is given to the parents to show the concepts, vocabulary, and knowledge that students will be gaining in First grade music class for the year. This shows the parents the lesson plans concepts and material that is expected to be convered. It also shows state music standards that will be meet during the year. It also gives some of the expectations and recquirements of music class.

As a teacher it is important to create a syllabus or chart that helps plan and guide through lesson planning as we begin to plan the school year. In music it is important to plan the topics and content areas that want to be meet and by when. I created this syllabus with the help of my cooperating teacher as she guided me through the material and music ideas that in this case first grade should gain in music as they begin to build their musical foundation for the rest of their lives. It also helps plan ahead on days you will be out, sub plans, and assesment.

I listed the benefits of having choir as students will develop various skills through a different music program opportunity. This is also a way for all students to grow on their singing and performance skills. It also will build community between the students. It help them develop skills of responsibility and social skills.

As a music teacher it is important to always be finding new ways to provide opportunities for students to grow their musical abilities. It also important to be able to propose new ways for students to learnr how to sight read, match pitch, articulations and dynamics, and other musical content. It also provides the school and the parents a clear understanding of what the students will be having as outcomes through participating in choir.
