Below are examples of some of my works to help further educate the lesson of the week as well as the students' work of art. Everyone worked so hard creating awesome pieces of work that I always tell them at the end of the lesson to give themselves a pat on the back for doing a wonderful job!
This was my example for the one-point perspective exploratory project that we did at the very beginning of the rotation.
These are two seventh grade examples for the one-point perspective project.
I made a guide featuing several different types of facial expressions to draw for the sixth grade self-portrait technical project.
This is a student's example of a calm face for their self-portrait.
We have examples on the white board filled with works of art from previous classes to help get students inspired and help them out for their current project, which was collages.
This is an eighth grader's example of their collages. They took to heart when I explained that they could make their collages 3D.
Various prints from various students.
6th grade made calligraphs with strings that we rolled ink out and place on the calligraphs to make a print.
7th grade worked with Gelli plates that we did various prints using various tools such as a mesh bag, comb, pattern templates, and stencils.
8th grade used Linoleum Printing Blocks where we had them carve an image of their choice into the brick. We would then have them make a print with the brick. We would continue breaking down the block with more carving and making more prints with each new carve.
Two different ceramic projects for 6th grade and 7th+8th together.
6th grade made a ceramic tile where we carved down into the block of clay to make an animal rise out from it.
7th+8th grade created ceramic vessels by learning the Slip, Score, and Secure process.
All three grades also had a glazing process that we did at the end before placing all ceramic projects in the Kiln. We also taught the class what the Kiln does to the projects. We managed to only have three out of the three grades that we fired "explode". Luckily, we had made enough to have students who had broken projects have something to take home.
