Background
Mālō e lelei / Welcome!
One of my greatest inspirations growing up is Tupac Shakur. Despite what the broader media portrayed him as, I loved reading his poetry and feeling empowered that even after all that he gone through, he remained empathetic towards children and the future generation, spoke highly of his mother and always found a different perspective to take on the world. He inspired hope in places where they feel hopeless - hence "long live the rose that grew from concrete." My favorite quote from him that actually spurred me to become a counselor is:
"I'm not saying I'm gonna rule the world or I'm gonna change the world, but I guarantee you that I will spark the brain that will change the world. And that's our job, It's to spark somebody else watching us,"

Being the oldest of six to immigrant parents, and living in a low-income hoursehold, it was inevitable for us to face different challenges. Although we didn’t have much, my parents instilled in us the importance of dreaming big and making the most of what we had. Watching my mom turn almost nothing in the kitchen into nourishing meals, and listening to my parents share their immigration stories and sacrifices, taught me resilience and gratitude. Their journey continues to motivate me to keep moving forward and chipping away at my goals.
Outside of school and work, I love to hang out with my family, go to the movies, attend concerts, sing, enjoy beautiful views and do crafty things.
