Standard 4 - Learning Environment – The competent teacher structures a safe and healthy learning environment that facilitates cultural and linguistic responsiveness, emotional well-being, self-efficacy, positive social interaction, mutual respect, active engagement, academic risk-taking, self-motivation, and personal goal-setting.
4I) This is a picture of how the desks within the classroom were set up during student teaching. Students were placed in groups of 4 or 5 and worked together to complete classwork. Students were able to name their groups to foster a sense of community and work together to gain group points.
4D) This artifact is of a list of ClassDojo rewards that tsudents can earn by cashing in points given to them for positive behavior. My mentor and I created this list based off of student interest as well as their suggestions for classroom rewards.
