Standard 8 - Collaborative Relationships – The competent teacher builds and maintains collaborative relationships to foster cognitive, linguistic, physical, and social and emotional development. This teacher works as a team member with professional colleagues, students, parents or guardians, and community members.
8M) This artifact is a weekly newsletter that goes home as a hard copy as well as gets sent to all parents digitally. This newsletter allows open communication with parents as they are aware of any important information going on in the classroom or the school. They get updated weekly on content being covered and any important topics they should be practicing at home. This newsletter contributes to having a collaborative learning environment.
8A) This is my meet the teacher flyer from open house. This artifact allowed me to start off by building a positive relationship with all parents that came to open house as well as connecting with them on a community level by discussing shared values, hobbies, and interests.
