In the summer of 2023, I was able to be on staff for a one-month summer learning camp opportunity through the Memphis Teacher Residency (MTR) in Memphis, TN. There, I planned and co-taught students with other teacher candidates, focusing on vocabulary development and reading skills. I attended professional development daily. This experience helped me learn various strategies to teach reading, new insights, methods for teaching, and understanding in working with a diverse population of students.

While I was in college, I was blessed to be a Resident Assistant (RA) for two years. In both years, I led a floor of women who were in their first year at the college, whether as a freshman or as a transfer student. In this position, I cultivated warm and safe environments for my residents, planned and hosted events, collaborated with a team as well as individuals throughout the campus, supported students in transition, provided mentorship and care, guided students to uphold the college's policies and procedures, and so much more.

As part of my fulfillment of the Honors Program in college, I did research with an Education professor to cultivate a presentation and journal article. The topic we researched was trauma-informed practices in K-12 Christian education settings following the model of Christ and His own encounters with trauma.
