Creativity

I think creativity is so important because it allows students to grow and express who they are. Through creativity, kids can show how they feel and create things that are important to them. I think your creativity is an extension of who you truly are and it is important to keep that part of kids alive. Kids have huge imaginations and I think if we feed into them we can allow kids to be expresive and creative.

I think creativity isn't just helpful to the students, but teachers also need to be creative. I think lesson plans are a big part of the creative side of teaching. This is the first Lesson Plan I have ever done. It is a social/emotional and music lesson when students begin to understand the effects music can have on emotions. I think a teacher's creativity can influence a student to explore their own creativity. 

Another display of creativity is through art. I created a visual arts lesson plan designed for 1st grade. This lesson teaches primary and secondary colors so the students will be able to identify and use these colors with knowledge. The students then get to create their pieces of work using primary and secondary colors and make art that is uniquely theirs. 

This is a History/Dance lesson plan that I created. I thought dance would be a fun way to integrate a little bit of history into a lesson. The dance learned is the Macarena, where the students will learn the background of the dance as well as modern influences on the song.
