Architectural Design II introduces the principles and methods of analysis, abstraction, and synthesis in design thinking that are common to many design fields, including building and architecture. The key emphasis of the studio is “User and Context”, which investigates the relationship between user and natural environment.

In this project, I was required to conduct a thorough study on a chosen building assigned per group, which for my group was the COCO Art Villa located in Costa Rica. In the group, we were expected to translate the architect's building work into diagrams in order to accurately convey their intentions. The end output was to produce a set of five each of diagrams, explanatory models, as well as orthographic drawings including the site plan, elevations and sections.
In a group of two, we were to further explore on a more meaningful space derived from the architectural design elements and principles of the previous case study. We had to study more about what the principles mean in a spatial experience context and translate the diagrams concisely into a three dimensional form. Through generous research, we were expected to produce an introspective architectural folly as well as orthographic and abstract drawings.
My final individual project involves the careful case study of the given site, Subang Ria Recreational Park, deriving diagrams, design responses to the context as well as site context alternatives. Then, I was required to design a "Solitary Haven" dedicated for myself and a partner. The project required us to produce a explanatory model complete with site contexts, orthographic drawings such as the site plan, elevations and sections, as well as relevant key drawings and an insight to our design intentions when responding to the site given.
