Family and Consumer Sciences students and FCCLA members from West Cary were among the 100 youth who participated in the 2019 PACE: Policy, Advocacy, and Community Engagement summit sponsored by Teach For America. Workshops the fourteen representatives from our chapter chose to attend included:
Creating Change as a Student
Opportunity is Out There! Creating and Building as a Student, For Students
Design Thinking in Schools
Supporting our LGBTQI+ Youth
The 2019 summit, themed "Setting the PACE to Redefine Leadership," was designed to bring to life new notions of the leadership necessary to achieve educational equity in our lifetimes. We appreciated the unique opportunity to experience a day of learning and connection to strengthen the network of educators, advocates, and student leaders working together.
