Mrs. Price (formerly Ms. DuVal before her marriage), joined what was then called Future Homemakers of America (FHA) when she was in middle school and was elected as their chapter president in seventh grade. When the organization changed its name to Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), she proudly served as chapter president for her school's inaugural year with the new name. She served her third term as chapter president in high school as a sophomore before being elected as State President as a junior and then as a National Vice President as a senior. In college, she served as president of the Alumni and Associates (A&A) Executive Board in Virginia. As a middle school Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) teacher, she advised her own chapter in North Carolina, and proudly served as the adviser to two state officers of her own. Her chapter won a national program award four years in a row - only eight middle schools in the country are recognized as a national program winner each year. Mrs. Price now works for the Virginia Association of FCCLA as their social media manager and assists the State Executive Council (SEC).
Ms. DuVal has staffed the annual State Leadership Conference since she graduated from high school and enjoys helping our keynote speakers.
As an introduction to parliamentary law, Ms. DuVal used a tech tool to create this short animated video to highlight the basics of "parli pro".
Ms. DuVal was part of the National Executive Council who filmed the program video above during their 2003-2004 term of service to the national organization. Her NEC is listed on page five of the 75th anniversary FCCLA national officer roster below.
A survey of business and industry stakeholders found that FCCLA most directly supports the four Career Pathways in Human Services, Hospitality and Tourism, Education and Training, and Visual Arts and Design; more information is below.
