Family and Consumer Sciences students and FCCLA members created eye-catching posters to put up inside the school building, chalked messages on the sidewalk, wore bright stickers and buttons, and signed the pledge banner to demonstrate their commitment to a healthy future free from tobacco.
The West Cary Middle School FCCLA chapter was proud to be one of just 20 chapters across the country to receive a $100 cash prize for our early participation in the "Taking Down Tobacco" anti-smoking/anti-vaping program in 2019. Thank you for committing to #BeTheFirst tobacco-free generation!
One of our outstanding Family and Consumer Sciences students and FCCLA members spoke about the importance of healthy, tobacco-free schools for youth at the 2019 PACE: Policy, Advocacy, and Community Engagement Summit at Wendell Middle School in Wake County. You can see her with other participants on the PACE Summit page of this site!
Family and Consumer Sciences students and FCCLA members completed an online anti-tobacco education program; this certificate of completion is an example of what they received at the end of the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids course! For more information, please visit https://www.tobaccofreekids.org/.
