I made Laughing Gas as a part of the Global Game Jam 2024, under the theme of "Make Me Laugh."
This game is a puzzle platformer where the main mechanic involved the player tickling the in-game character to literally make them laugh and jump. We also added some more gag elements, like the player slowly expanding with each consecutive tickle, farting to to maneuver mid-air, and blowing up like a balloon on death, all which added to the comedic aesthetic to better fit the jam theme.
I worked on this game as the main programmer, alongside 2 other teammates. As such, I was responsible for creating scripts for the main character controller and physics interactions. This included the basic mini-jumps that occurred when tickling (clicking on) the character, as well as the "fart" dash that occurred when the player had built up some gas.

While we released this game for the game jam, I have since been working on reworking the game with my teammates. While we loved the feel of the movement system between small jumps and farts, we wanted to take more of an arena-battler approach where players tried to push each other around an arena and avoid spikes. I'm hoping to share more footage and photos from the game as we get further in development, so stay tuned!
