The 2026–2027 Albemarle 4-H Family Handbook is a helpful introduction to the world of 4-H for new families. It provides an overview of what 4-H is, how the program supports youth development, and what to expect throughout the year. Inside, families will find answers to common questions, explanations of clubs and projects, volunteer roles, leadership opportunities, events, and local contact information. This guide is designed to help you confidently navigate your 4-H journey and make the most of the opportunities available.

2026 Outstanding Member Application

4-H’ers (age 5 – 18 as of September 30 of the current year) can apply for an Outstanding Member Award by submitting a Virginia 4-H Youth All Star Application with the following point totals for each age division:

Cloverbuds: 7 points

Juniors: 15 points

Intermediates: 25 points

Seniors: 35 points

Please fill out the All Star Application for only the 2025-2026 4-H Year.  Outstanding Member Award applicants do not have to fill out the last two pages of the application.  Here is a video where 4-H Extension Agent Kaci Daniel walks you through the All Star application.  Filling out the All Star Application yearly is a great practice for when your child turns 15 and is eligible to apply for All Star.  You can read more about All Stars on the new All Star section of our website.
