Gradebook Analysis/Communication

Being able to use data to drive student instruction is so important for teachers. For this assignment, I was able to take students' grade books and use that data to communicate with parents and students. Through these emails, I was able to form alternate assignments for students who are struggling. I also used the data to praise a student for the hard work they put into their classes. This assignment aligns with ISTE standard 2.7 as I was able to use the students' data to drive instruction and set learning goals that would aid in their learning. It is so important for teachers to go over students' data and reach out to those who are struggling and need support.

Making sure that students have multiple opportunities to show their understanding is something that I have always respected in teachers. Dr. Jared Stanley was one of those teachers to me. Sometimes some of the concepts and assignments he had were hard and some students would not always do their best on them. However, Dr. Stanley always made sure that students could show their understanding in multiple ways by doing extra credit work, or other assignments he created for struggling students.
