Use this page to learn more about the AI4LAM Awesome List and how to contribute to it!
What is it?
The AI4LAM Awesome List is an online list of resources of interest to the AI4LAM community. It features very brief descriptions and links to learning materials, software tools, projects, and various other resources relevant to the intersection of AI and (G)LAMs. The list is curated and maintained cooperatively by people in AI4LAM. Anyone can make suggestions for additions, changes, and improvements.
The "awesome list" concept is something that developed in the community of software developers who use GitHub. It's a grass-roots activity intended to help people find useful resources and projects.
How does it work?
The AI4LAM Awesome List is a single web page organized by topics. The file used to produce the web page is stored in a repository on GitHub. This repository's web address is https://github.com/AI4LAM/awesome-ai4lam and the direct link to the AI4LAM Awesome List is https://github.com/AI4LAM/awesome-ai4lam#readme
How can I contribute?
There are several ways that a person can contribute.
Submit a suggestion via this Google Form.
Open an "issue" or pull request on GitHub: The GitHub repository that stores the AI4LAM Awesome List includes a facility for making online requests and suggestions. They take the form of "issues" on GitHub, which is simply GitHub's term for a bug tracker, or what some other systems would call "tickets". To make the process easier, the AI4LAM Awesome List has a button labelled "Suggest an addition" next to each section heading in the list; when clicked, the button will open an online form requesting more details from the user. Once that's done, certain core maintainers of the AI4LAM Awesome List get notified, and can act on the request or engage in a dialog with the original asker to get clarifications if needed.
Contact someone via email: instead of interacting directly with GitHub, a person can email contact@ai4lam.org and they will route the request to the relevant people.
Bring it up on the AI4LAM Slack workspace: another way to make suggestions or contributions is to send it via Slack. (The #random channel is probably the best one at this time.)
