Artificial Intelligence and Musikalisches Würfelspiel: The dice game invented by Mozart was composed well before AI was invented, but it works similarly to an expert system. The idea of creating rules to allow a computer (or another human musician, as Mozart probably intended) to compose a piece that will sound good is exactly what computer scientists tried to do using traditional artificial intelligence to turn machines into composers.
