Los Angeles-based travel blogger Ahmed Nashaat says that there are trips and there are family trips. He believes that while travelers should always prepare for virtually any situation they might encounter, it goes double or even triple when the entire family is involved.

For this post, Ahmed Nashaat shares a list of travel must-haves for the family.

1. Medical kits

One of the things that is true about traveling, Ahmed Nashaat points out, is the relative unpredictability of events. You just might get injured or bruised on your way simply because you tend to go to areas you're unfamiliar with when traveling.

Always keep a medical kit handy whenever you go out. Remember that accidents and emergencies happen at any time, so it's prudent always to bring your first-aid kit. In fact, Ahmed Nashaat says it's a good idea to bring more than one kit.

2. Sunglasses

Whenever you travel, there are so many sights to see. This means that each trip you enjoy puts relative pressure on your eyes. Wear some sunglasses on your next full-day trip, and have the kids wear their own pairs as well.

Aside from shielding your eyes from the sun's harmful rays, sunglasses protect your eyes from any foreign object that can fly around. Looking cool is just a bonus.

3. Passport

Now, if there is an item that every traveler should ensure that they always have, it is their travel documents, especially their passport. As Ahmed Nashaat explains, a passport is always at the top of anyone's list when traveling to and in a foreign country. If you can identify yourself to the authorities when a situation calls for it, your passport will spare you a heap of trouble.
